Lowland tropical rainforest and edges, disturbed but still with some of original canopy trees
Heliconia rostrata, H. aemygdiana, H. stricta, Gurania lobata, G. acuminata, G. eriantha, Piper heterophyllum, Costus scaber.
Much-branched shrub 2.5 m. tall. Young leaves hanging, reddish-tinged. Fruit turning light pink, a few of seen mature, purple-black, twice the size of the many immature ones, and easily detached.
