Herbario San Cristóbal de Huamanga, Universidad Nacional de San Cristóbal de Huamanga, Ayacucho, Perú (HSCH-UNSCH)

La colección del Herbario San Cristóbal de Huamanga, de la Universidad Nacional de San Cristóbal de Huamanga; contiene un aproximado de 10000 muestras herborizadas, la mayoría de los ejemplares han sido colectados en zonas altoandinas de la región Ayacucho (Perú), en bosques estacionalmente secos, humedales altoandinos, bosques relictos y matorrales andinos, entre otros ecosistemas, que rondan desde los 3000m.s.n.m hasta los 5000m.s.n.m. aproximadamente. Todas las muestras contienen etiquetas con datos taxonómicos, geográficos, ecológicos y con información de los colectores y determinadores, las familias más representativas son Asteraceae y Poaceae. Contiene muestras que datan de los años 70's.

The Herbarium San Cristobal de Huamanga (HSCH) is the only Herbarium in the region of Ayacucho - Peru, therefore is an institution of importance for the area, it houses information on native, wild and endemic vegetation, which contributes to the knowledge of the local flora to promote the preservation of natural ecosystems that harbor great biodiversity.

Taxonomic Coverage: Plant vascular (angiosperm, gimnosperm), pteridófitos., lichens, bryophytas.

Geography: Paramo, Grassland of dry puna, Grassland of wet puna, Wetland (bofedal), zone periglacier and glacier, matorral of dry puna, high Andean relict forest, Andean scrubland.
