Trichomes simple, whitish to tan, less than 0.3 mm long. Leaves elliptic, 2–5.8 × 1–3.2 cm, the margin often with ciliate appressed-antrorse white trichomes, revolute when dry especially at the base; apex acute to acuminate; base cuneate to attenuate; blades thin, submembranous to slightly chartaceous, slightly discolorous, somewhat shiny and dark green above, duller and dark olive green beneath, densely glandular; venation brochidodromous; midvein glabrous or sparsely pubescent with appressed trichomes, flush to slightly raised above, prominent and raised below; secondary veins 6–9 pairs, distinct, raised on both surfaces, the marginal vein 1–1.8 mm from the margin at the midpoint of the leaf; tertiary veins indistinct; petiole channeled, 2–4 mm long, ca. 0.8 mm thick, densely to sparsely puberulent. Flower bud pyriform, (3–)4–5 mm long, the globe of the bud ca. 2.5 mm in diameter; peduncles 3–13 × 0.5 mm, flattened, axillary, solitary or often in pairs on short, bracteate shoots, these shoots to 2(–5) cm long, sometimes terminating in a dichasium; bracteoles early caducous or present until fruit matures, ovate-lanceolate, 0.5–1 × 0.2–0.3 mm; calyx open, the lobes 4, ovate to suborbicular, 1.5–2 × 1.5–2mm, pubescent adaxially and with a densely ciliate margin, glandular, glabrous on the abaxial surface; petals 4, obovate to suborbicular, 3–3.5 mm long, the base at the point of attachment ca. 0.8mm wide, white, glandular on the adaxial surface, sometimes with a ciliate margin. Hypanthium campanulate, 4-angled and slightly winged in cross section, 1.5–2 mm long, not tearing between the calyx lobes; hypanthium tube ca.1 mm long; disk 1.5–2 mm wide, the staminal ring brownish, ca. 0.5 mm wide, glabrous. Stamens 70–95; filaments 2–4 mm long; anthers narrowly elliptic, 0.6–1 × 0.2mm, with 1 raised, terminal gland, the gland shortcylindric, yellowish brown, to 0.1 mm long. Style 4–5.5 mm long, ca. 0.1 mm thick, glandular. Stigma slightly peltate. Ovary 2-locular; lacentation axile, the ovules 12–20, radiating from the central, slightly protruding placenta. Fruits, 4-angled, slightly winged, oblanceolate to oblong, green turning black at maturity, somewhat fleshy, 12–19 × 5mm, densely glandular. Seeds 4–7 per fruit, cochleate with a soft center, flattened, 2–4 mm long, 0.5 mm thick, the seed coat coriaceous, wavy-papillose, the central portion smooth and dark brown with isodiametric cells, somewhat lustrous, brownish, 1(–3) cells thick, the cells of the rim elongate with the long axis radiating outwards from the center of the seed, the micropylar operculum present at the hypocotyl end of the embryo. Embryo C-shaped, the cotyledons not reflexed, ca. 1⁄6 the length of the hypocotyl.
